48. Navigating Sick Season With @resilientrascals
Dec 13, 2023
Amy Kiefer + Krystle Howald

We have Dr. Anjuli Gans from @resilientrascals on the show today. Her goal over there is to serve as a resource for parents to bridge the gap between your instincts and professional medical advice. She’s not only a pediatrician but she’s a mom as well.

Have you ever felt like your kid is sick all the time? Dr. Anjuli goes over how many illnesses are normal for the first year of a child’s life. She also explains that as children get older, things do tend to get better. Their immunities get stronger and the illnesses tend to not last as long.

Do you feel helpless as a parent when your child gets sick? Do you feel like it’s your fault? Dr. Anjuli gives us some friendly reminders that no matter what we do as parents, children are going to get sick. It is a normal part of their upbringing. She does offer a few suggestions on what you can do to help prevent respiratory illnesses and even shares whether or not she uses distilled water in her humidifiers in her own home!
